Mountain Villages

Montville is a small village, that sits up high in the hinterland, approx 30 minute drive from Caloundra, we went there over the long weekend, far too many touristas, so after sharing an antipasta platter at the Penefathings Inn, we left, vowing to return during the week. This we did on Thursday. Lovely day again, bit nippy, but it was well worth the return. Such a pretty place, beautiful gardens, and super views back to the coast. There are other lovely villages in the same area such as Maleny and Mapleton. This area is a favourite for Weddings.

Many Galleries and shops in Montville

Husbands are catered for at the Montville Inn!! The bees were very busy in the flowering gums that line the streets

Lots of restaurants and cafes

And incredible views back to the Coast

  1. What a great spot.

It has been milder here this week with a bit of rain. Last week was freezing! Lots of frost and ice and i wore a hat and gloves for the first time since we moved here.

Been busy building bunks as you will see from the blog. They are a dead match for ethan's existing bed which will go into storage for now. Immy will have the bottom bunk when she is big enough if we can persuade them to share.

Coincidentally, a package in the post came toady from Kevin and Margaret - Ian and David's old jungle duvet covers (thanks GUK and GAM!).

  2. Agree with Sarah, what a great location and fab. photos -what's your new camera? After flash floods here again in the week the sun is shining, should be a nice weekend looming.

  3. Ta guys, Sarah and Ian, kids look very excited about their new bed - how great that GUK and GAM (aka Kevin and Margaret) sent out the doona covers. Kev, most of the photos have been taken with my little Panasonic, but have started to use the new Canon Digital SLR, not very good at it yet, but 2 of my photos were published this morning in the Sunshine Coast Daily - I emailed them a couple of days ago when the request was made by the paper's photographer for photos of this weeks sunsets and big moon. Of course his (posted on my blog) were incredible! They will be put on the paper's website on Monday, along with some really good ones from others.
