2 Sleeps on Waiheke Island

After saying adieu to Margaret and Kevin at Auckland Airport last Monday (23rd March) we drove to Half Moon Bay to catch the car ferry to Waiheke Island, but before its departure we had brunch at a cafe overlooking the Marina - mine was a superb whitebate omelette. It is no wonder they call Auckland the City of Sails, there are so many marinas like this one at Half Moon Bay,

starting with a glass of Mudbrick's Rose - note it's reflection on the table cloth, could be something to do with the price!
Popular venue for weddings and outdoor concerts as well as being surrounded by vines, the french potager gardens and seating areas are delightful. Wallet alert - tres tres expensive!!!!! The next stop was Cable Bay Vineyard more lovely views from this vineyard
