Well it's all over, and the sun is shining and we are getting on with the househunting thing, and generally aquainting ourselves with the area - plus spending more time with the family which has been great - Susan and Ails introduced us to the best Deli in Broadbeach on Saturday; Susan, Frank and I went back there for coffee on Sunday morning.. Have posted a few photos of the storm/s - beaches are still closed, seas are treacherous, and tides are high. Loads of coastal damage, but apparently the hinterland was hardest hit, holy moly it must've been bad there.

Below - another truly "stupid" tries to set sail from the Broadwater. The Coastal Patrol, right round the corner from our van, were most unimpressed.
This is probably the most photographed car appearing during and after the storms. Story is a cleaner parks his car in the carpart of the Currumbin Surf Club - goes about his cleaning duties, and comes out to find his car has disappeared into the frothy sea!!
